although of course it's in the TDB tour book trivia quiz.)[I suspect this may be a facetious interpretation. It seems as likely to me that the slang may have come from kid's tales of monstrous, primitive people in the Fens

An earlier attempt at filming the movie in the 70s never got off the ground, but would have featured designs by Jean Giraud and H.R. Giger, a soundtrack by Pink Floyd, and Salvador Dali as Emperor Shaddam IV.

There are many conflicting stories about Jodorowsky's ill-fated attempts to bring Frank Herbert's novel Dune (1965) to the screen, but the cast of collaborators was incredible. Pink Floyd offered to write the score at the peak of their creativity.

Jodorowsky wants too Pink Floyd for the planet of the Emperor: "I had the chance, thanks to my film El Topo , to be known by these musicians. They condescended well to receive us in London with the Abbeyroad studios where Beatles had recorded their success. I wanted artists who can respect a work of one
such importance for the human conscience. They decided to take part in film in producing an album which was going to be called Dune composed of two discs. They came to Paris to discuss the economic part and, after an intense discussion, one was able at an agreement. Pink Floyd would make almost all the music of film."
